Cooling Systems: If environmental cooling systems are required Winecave can assist in the application. There are two types of units used to control temperature and humidity in a wine cellar. One is a self contained "through the wall" system, which can handle cellar space up to 1500 cubic feet. The other is a "split system", which is comprised of a condenser located outside the cellar, and an evaporator and thermostat located inside the cellar. For large cellars there are Split Systems that require commercial refrigeration installation.
Choosing the right door style: All the effort that goes into creating the ideal wine cellar can quickly be erased by choosing the wrong type of door or opening. More important than its aesthetic appeal, the door to your wine cellar needs to be made of material that will provide an air-tight seal and prevent cooling loss. To strike the balance between beauty and function, glass cellar doors can make a good choice. Just make sure that the glass is well insulated and also tempered to prevent shattering. A renovation builder will help you to choose the best quality materials and appropriate door type for your cellar’s entrance.
Doors & Lighting: Two more elements that can have an effect on the environment of a cellar are doors and lighting. Doors must be of an exterior grade with a full weather stripping. If a cooling unit is being installed, without the weather seal the cellar will not maintain its proper humidity or temperature levels. This is the most common problem with cooling units running continually. Solid core doors, or doors with glass inserts, make sure the glass is double thermo pane and tempered, are used most often.
Wine Rack: Wine racks can be supplemental to any kind of wine-lover. Wine racks are great for storage, while smaller models can double as a display rack in your kitchen. There is also a greater variety of styles that wine racks come in, which gives you more freedom to decorate your kitchen the way you want to. Wine racks can be much more economical than wine refrigerators because they do not cost any energy and require little to no upkeep, unlike wine refrigerators.
