This is actually more needed by restaurants who value the importance of wine when serving the food that they offer. It is not enough for restaurants to have refrigerators or freezers to store their wines, for it will not render the best serving temperature for wines. It just so happen that refrigerators have inconsistent temperature that is not even specific which is not good enough for a wine, unless you just want your wine to be cold. However for wines, being cold is not enough especially for other types of wine.
The Wine Room: Before installing a wine refrigeration system, make sure the room is vapor sealed and properly insulated. Every wall and ceiling should be scaled with a vapor barrier on the "warm side" of the walls. 6 or 8 mil plastic sheeting is highly recommended. Interior walls should be insulated to a minimum of R-19. We recommend using rigid foam board. Additionally, all cracks should be filled with expanding spray foam. All walls are finished with moisture resistant green board.
