This compact design makes for a quick and easy installation process, one in which you can likely forgo the aid of a refrigeration technician. This will cut down on your overall installation costs. In addition, the self-contained cooling option doesn’t involve ductwork or refrigeration lines because it’s essentially just one, self-contained cooling unit. This type of cooling unit is also called "through the wall" because it’s often mounted and vented through the wall itself. Due to the ease of installation and general upkeep, this is often the most popular and cost-effective type of wine cellar cooling.
You can now choose your wine cellar refrigeration system based upon your results. There are mainly 2 types of wine cellar cooling units. The first is the relatively more affordable Self-Contained Cooling System. The self-contained cooling system is a lot like a built-in or through-the-wall air conditioning unit. This system needs to vent to an adjacent climate-controlled room that is usually the same size or larger than your wine room. The WhisperKool XLT Series is one example of a self-contained cooling system.
The second type is the Split Cooling System. This type of wine cellar cooling unit is essentially two separate units, the condenser unit and the evaporator unit. The condenser, which is usually situated outside the house, supplies refrigerant liquid to the evaporator via a compressor, which is normally wall mounted inside the wine room. The evaporator then cools the air that comes into contact with it by turning humid air into liquid, which is then collected outside the wine room.
This is actually more needed by restaurants who value the importance of wine when serving the food that they offer. It is not enough for restaurants to have refrigerators or freezers to store their wines, for it will not render the best serving temperature for wines. It just so happen that refrigerators have inconsistent temperature that is not even specific which is not good enough for a wine, unless you just want your wine to be cold. However for wines, being cold is not enough especially for other types of wine.
